A Statement From Alaska Congressman Don Young

Fort Yukon, AK - The following is a statement from Alaska Congressman Don Young regarding the primary election results as of 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Young and his wife Lu are at their residence at Fort Yukon.

"What a night.  This has been an extremely spirited and hard-fought primary and now it appears as if we won't know the results until sometime Wednesday, at the earliest.

"There are several precincts still to be counted and an additional 4,000 Republican absentee ballots.  Once these ballots are counted, Lt. Gov. Parnell and I will be able to determine what course our campaigns will take.

"My wife Lu and I are personally humbled and grateful for the support I received in this primary campaign.  sincerely thank each and every one of my supporters for their continued trust.

"I'm confident the final results will give us a primary victory and we can move on to the general election."
